Boys and girls teams from ages 6 to 18, compete against other clubs in the Geelong United basketball league, in venues across Geelong.

Basketball happens all year round. Summer Season runs from the beginning of school term 4 through to the end of term 1. Winter Season runs from the beginning of school term 2 through to end of term 3.

Once a year, typically in September, the club conducts try-outs, and our Match Committee organise teams and assign them to suitable grades in the Geelong United basketball league. After a few weeks of grading games at the start of the season, teams will be allocated to a division for the duration of that season.

Training is held weekly at Try Boys Stadium on Thursdays and Sundays. On Thursday evenings, we offer age group skills sessions for our under 12 to under 19 players led by Ethan Blythe & Jack McGough. The Under 10 boys and girls practice on Sundays, and team training sessions also occur on Sundays, overseen by team coaches and volunteers. These sessions typically last for one hour.

Every player needs to complete a registration and pay the associated fees, which include:
Basketball Australia Game Development Levy: $5.50 per annum
Basketball Victoria Participant Licence: Juniors $34 per annum
Geelong United Registration Fee: $80 per season
Try Boys Basketball Club Membership: Juniors $45 per season

HOW TO GET INVOLVED
For new players, getting involved is a 3-step process:
STEP 1
Register
Register as a player at PlayHQ.
STEP 2
Number
Contact our uniform coordinator to request a singlet number. You will be allocated a number for your uniform that doesn’t clash with your teammates or age group.
STEP 3
UNIFORM
Once you have your playing number, order your uniform via Starsub Apparel.
Then you should be all set and ready to hit the court!
